Chris D Renaud was born and raised in North Bay, Ontario Canada on October 28th 1974. Mother, Margaret Peggy Renaud claims to this day that the first sound out of her little Christopher's mouth at birth was more of a song than a cry. Father Harley Donald Renaud was and remains Chris's very first musical influence and inspiration. Born and raised with Country Music in his heart and soul, his musical influences at a young age included such artists as Conway Twitty, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Gene Watson, Marty Robins and Ronnie Millsap. Today they include such great entertainers like George Strait, Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley, Lee Brice and many others.

Chris has a tremendous amount of respect for new sound Country music and much appreciation for Country music radio for their ongoing contribution in supporting and promoting Canadian Entertainers.

At the early age of just 8 years old Chris started to compete in Country Music Singing Competitions across Canada. One of these being the Canadian Open Country Singing Contest where performers like Beverley Mahood, The Wilkinson’s and Gil Grand also competed and started out. Chris captured many wins and also many defeats throughout these years which all encouraged him even more to try harder and push for his career in performing as a Country Music Singer/songwriter.

After capturing his first place win at The Ontario Open Country Singing Contest in Toronto, Ontario, in 1996 he recorded his first original single titled "Love Is Blind" The single was released to over 200 Radio stations Nationwide and done very well on the radio charts including top ten in Hollywood California. In 1990 Chris put together his first band with the group name "YOUNG COUNTRY" The four piece consisted of himself performing the lead vocals and rhythm, Jessy Coutu on drums, Scott Aultman on bass guitar and Billy Boissonneault on leads. Young Country played all over Ontario at a variety of different shows and functions such as festivals, clubs, arenas, halls and parks. They developed rapidly as a group, becoming very professional while at the same time maintaining fun and energetic performances that assisted them in quickly climbing the popularity ladder especially in their hometown of North Bay, Ontario. They toured solid for three years straight sometimes four nights a week. Young Country played and toured together as a group for a total of 9 years.

Chris continues to perform with one original member of that group, Scott Aultmun on Bass with his current group THE CDR BAND. Chris also plays the bass and sings lead/backup vocals in his father’s musical group “Lovin Country” and has now for 18 years.

Chris is an active member of the Nipissing Country Music association and the Canadian Country Music Association. He represents the NCMA as a liaison. Chris holds the role as bandleader performing the musical accompaniment for all the singing contestants that compete in the Annual Ontario Open Country Singing Contest.

He has had the honor of sharing the stage with such artists as Mark Chestnut, David Lee Murphy and Marty Stewart. Just recently he joined Mr. Johnny Burke, Harold Macintyre and Steve Piticco on stage.

Chris Renaud IS READY and prepared for a more professional position as a performer. After 25 years of dedication to Country Music he is polished up and has recently recorded his very first EP titled "A BRAND NEW CHEVY". It was recorded at North of Seven Studio in Claremont, Ontario under the direction of studio owner and engineer who recently passed Robin Short.
